The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) recently announced investments of more than $ 554 million in 117 infrastructure projects at 61 universities, colleges and research hospitals in Canada.
Scientific mission in South Korea

New laboratory
Professor Mathieu Frenette, member of NanoQAM obtained a grant from the John R. Evans Evans Fund of the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) for the establishment of new research infrastructures and also additional financial assistance from the Government of Quebec as well as various partners.
Research Chair on two-dimensional materials
Professor of the Department of Chemistry Mohamed Siaj, deputy director of the NanoQAM Research Center on nanomaterials and energy, is the holder of the Chair on two-dimensional materials for applications in the fields of chemical and biological sensors as well as detection .
Publication in journal Science
Professor Steen Schougaard was invited to publish an outlook article on lithium batteries in the prestigious journal Science.

Star student-researcher March 2016
Farzaneh Mahvash Mohammad, co-direction student between UQAM and McGill (Pr Thomas Szkopek and Pr Mohamed Siaj) was elected Star Student-Researcher March 2016 by the Quebec Research Fund - Nature and Technologies (FRQNT).
2015 Excellence Award for Pr. Nabki
On February 11, the Faculty of Science awarded its 2015 Excellence Awards. Professors Frédéric Nabki, from the Department of Computer Science, received the Research Prize - Relève.
Discovery of the year
For over 20 years, the scientific magazine Québec Science has published the list of 10 scientific discoveries of the year in Quebec. This year, Professor Jérôme Claverie of the Department of Chemistry, and graduate Basile Commarieu (Ph. D. Chemistry, 2015), are in this prestigious honor roll, published in the January-February edition.
