ICP coupled OES
Description of the instrument
The plasma torch is a physical method of chemical analysis allowing to measure almost all the elements simultaneously (the analysis takes a few minutes, excluding preparation). The method consists in ionizing the sample by injecting it into an argon plasma (temperature around 6000K). Samples must be prepared by dissolving in an acid (wet mineralization) in order to be analyzed. The solution is then injected into the plasma in the form of a fine aerosol, generated by a pneumatic device (nebulizer).
