46th POMS Conference

Symposium organized by NanoQAM

From November 2-4, 2018, the group of Pr. Mathieu Frenette (assistant director of NanoQAM) hosted researchers at UQAM for the 46th conference of the Physical Organic Mini Symposium (POMS).

POMS Conference

POMS is one of the main symposia of organic chemistry-physics in North America. This meeting brings together all aspects of organic physical chemistry, as well as its relentless approach to understanding chemical processes: from fundamental mechanistic investigation, from spectroscopy to advanced materials to biological chemistry. All areas of chemistry can benefit from the principles of organic chemistry and physics, and POMS is the ideal gathering to see these principles in action!

Presentations and awards

On Sunday November 4, 7 visiting professors presented their research in a presentation session open to all. Anthonius van Kessel (McGill) and Natalia Sannikova (Simon Fraser U.) received awards for their oral presentations; Julia McCain (McGill) and Janet Gaba (Concordia) won prizes for the best poster presentations.
