New UV-visible spectrometerse
UV-Visible measurements
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of UQAM and the NanoQAM research center have just made available to various academic and industrial players two additional scientific facilities dedicated to UV-Visible measurements.
UV-visible spectrometers, Cary 100 Bio and Cary 1E
These UV-visible spectrometers, Cary 100 Bio and Cary 1E from Varian allow measurements of transmittance and absorbance of solutions (aqueous or organic) for wavelengths between 190 nm and 900 nm. These spectrometers are coupled to temperature controllers which allow the temperature of the cells to be kept constant during the analyzes. The supported temperature ranges are between -10C and + 100C.
The software that controls the spectrometer allows simple scans, quantitative analyzes, kinetic measurements, enzyme kinetics, routine biochemical assays, as well as a range of additional data processing.
Future uses
All persons interested in the use of these 2 UV-visible spectrometers must contact Gwenael Chamoulaud, the person responsible for this equipment.
