New particle size analyzer

Particle size analyzer

Professor Jérôme Claverie of the Department of Chemistry at UQAM and the NanoQAM research center have just made available to various academic and industrial players in the nanotechnology fields a new instrument allowing the analysis of particle sizes in solution.

Instrument properties

This Nano S90 analyzer allows the measurement of particle sizes in liquid phase (minimum volume of 20uL). Thanks to a 4mW laser it allows the detection of 0.3nn particles and 5 microns in diameter. The zetasizer is equipped with an Avalanche photodiode detector (APD) allowing to obtain a sensitivity 20 times higher than a photomultiplier (PM). This instrument works according to the principles of static dynamic light scattering. It is equipped with a temperature controller and allows measurements to be made between 0 ° C and 90 ° C with an accuracy of 0.1 ° C.

Future uses

Anyone interested in using this particle size analyzer must first undergo training with Mr. Gwenaël Chamoulaud.
